BISHKEK, June 12 (Central Asia Online) – Kyrgyz Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov and Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov recently agreed to establish air service between Bishkek and Ashgabat this year, Babanov’s press office told media Friday.
The flights will help increase the mutual flow of tourists and boost bilateral co-operation, the sides determined during late May discussions about the service.
No information about the number of flights per week or when the flights would start was available.
In another move to boost economic co-operation, Babanov and Berdymukhammedov discussed opening a Turkmen embassy in Bishkek and establishing an intergovernmental commission on trade.
