BISHKEK, March 22 (TCA) — Sanjarbek Bakiev, nephew of former President Kurmanbek Bakiev, stays imprisoned due to the cancellation of amnesty, AKIpress reported.
Earlier, his term of imprisonment was reduced due to the amnesty on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan’s independence. According to the appropriate law, the term would have finished by March 20. However, Prosecutor's Office canceled the amnesty on March 15, leaving the convict imprisoned until the end of the term.
Sanjarbek Bakiev was accused of organization of mass disorders, illegal possession of weapon, and use of force against authorities during the events in mid May of 2010 in Kyrgyz southern city of Jalal-Abad.
