Uzbekistan: UN agencies, banks, governments work to rebuild after pandemic

TASHKENT (TCA) — Seventeen United Nations agencies and six international financial institutions (IFIs) are working together in Uzbekistan to address COVID-19’s devastating impacts on the Central Asian republic—creating jobs, re-skilling migrant workers, delivering medical and protective gear, and providing vital information and expertise to its 33 million people, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) reported.
