BISHKEK, January 29 (TCA) — Uzbekistan has opened all rail checkpoints on the border with Kyrgyzstan, Kabar quoted the deputy Director of Kyrgyztemirjolu National Company Almazbek Nogoibayev as saying.
“All checkpoints are open since January 26. Now Kyrgyz and Uzbek cars may pass through them,” Nogoibayev said.
Last Monday, Uzbek side temporarily closed the checkpoints of Kyzyl-Kiya, Karasu, Jalal-Abad and Shamaldusay.
While Karasu was reportedly closed due to technical problems of the locomotive, the reasons for closing the others was not clear.
