Bakiev’s son sentenced to twenty five years of imprisonment

BISHKEK, March 28 (TCA) — The Bishkek City Court is sentenced Maksim Bakiyev, the son of former Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, to 25 years of imprisonment in the colony of intensive regime in absentia, Kabar reported yesterday with reference to General Prosecutor's office.
According to the source, Pervomay District Court of Bishkek accused Bakiyev for collaboration in crime, corruption and signing agreements and carrying state purchases contrary to interest of the Kyrgyz Republic. Along with the imprisonment, prosecutors requested to deprive him from right to hold state positions for 3 years and complete confiscation of property.
The General Prosecutor continues operations on Maksim Bakiyev’s extradition to the Kyrgyz Republic, the source noted.
